Why is the motor size listed as 1 hp when everywhere else I have looked it says 2.5 hp?

This one doesn't have extra features which you don't use while normal running.
Buy a treadmill with features which you need instead of cheap treadmill with extra features which you don't need. Quality is great. Been using for a month now and works good.

Great product and is value for money

I bought this some weeks ago and I am very glad, because it's a very good equipment, simple to use, simple to transport, and it's bigger than I expected.

Very good equipment

Had this model before, it was given to me. Had it in the garage finally started using it. The motor  started to burn out after a few months. I was told by a tech that dust and dirt probably contributed  to the motor burning out. A new motor cost almost half of what the treadmill cost. So bought a new one same model. Note, if you use it in the garage, it will void the warranty. This brand xterra is made by Sole which also makes high end treadmills. Jury's out on how long this will last and its inside this time.  I'm satisfied with my purchase.

A good no frills, budget treadmill.

Had it for 2 weeks. We do 7-8 hours a week of walking and running on it. Holds up fine, seems solid when you're running. The length of the mat is enough for us but you probably want a longer one if you're close to 6 feet. 

The warranty is short compared to other treadmills. Hopefully nothing goes wrong. One small issue. The lcd screen shows a black line occasionally. 

It arrived in a week. It's definitely a 2 person job to move the box.

Great for lighter people who don't run a lot

For the price it is one of the better treadmills you can get. Ive been using mine for about a month now and live it. The only downside is my hands sometimes hit the hand rails, they could have seperated them a bit more, but other than that there is lots of space & it is built well.

Great treadmill for less money

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Finally took the time to set this up. Was very easy to do: put in 6 bolts and connect 2 wires and voilà! I was relieved that it could be that simple. The length of the treadmill is excellent; I am a bit disappointed with the width of the walking area. Would have appreciated an extra few inches. We haven't used it much yet but it is simple and straightforward to use. Hopefully things continue to go well. So far, other than the width, we are satisfied.

Very easy to set up

Product arrived on time, assembly was easy, and manual instructions pretty clear. Started up fine and is easy to operate. However, 2 problems I've noticed. The belt adjustment screws are both seized apparently. I've read the manual info, and watched on-line video to be sure I didn't miss something, and still can't get either one to budge. I may have even stripped one of the screw heads in my attempts to rotate it. The second problem is that the belt doesn't seem to be lubed. I've felt underneath, and it is dry with no evidence of lubrication, as described in the manual. Furthermore, the manual says to loosen the belt with about 10 turns on both screws to allow access under the belt to apply lubricant. Obviously I can't do that with neither screw turning. Will call service number for help!

X-Terra 500 problems

The description says it has a manual incline of three positions. However, the one I received does not have any manual incline options. The main reason I purchase this one was so that I could do the manual incline as needed. For that reason I am very disappointed in the purchase. 

Outside of that everything else is fine. The delivery was quick, the set up was easy, and it works well. It's not too bulky, which is what I wanted.

Item description does not match item received

A good treadmill for the price. Build quality is decent, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than a few years with regular use. The display occasionally bugs out while in use and won't show the correct time, but works fine after a reset. The belt is narrow, I wouldn't want to sprint on it for long but it's fine for walking for myself at 5'9 170.

A good budget Treadmill.

This is a budget treadmill, light weight, easy to.set up within 15 minutes.  It runs much faster than actual speed.  The running belt starts producing squeaky sound in less than a week, it doean't help after lubrication.
