Maybe not initially for first time users. The material is squishy though and fits right where it needs to. Even for the smallest people, the sponge will fit if you follow the instructions included with the product.

&quot;Before sexual intercourse&quot; is the only time you should insert it. In other words there is no &quot;in advance&quot; time limit. You can put it in when you are ready to begin, or even an hour before if you don&#39;t want to interrupt the process.

If you have it inserted correctly your partner will not be able to see the removal band and should not be able to feel it. If he does, its just soft foam so it shouldn&#39;t be a problem.

Yes. You just need to wet it with warm water and squeeze it slightly to foam it up and then insert it with the elastic strap hanging down so it&#39;s easier to remove.

Ease Of Use

I have been using these for 25 years. Way better than fumbling with condoms.

Perfect for me

I am 31 and stopped using birth control pills for future ease of conception. I am not looking to get pregnant quite yet and was thrilled to find a birth control method that doesn't require a prescription. I have only used this once but was pleased with ease of use and comfort and will continue to use this birth control.

Good alternative to hormones

easy!

I had been taking birth control pills for years for both avoiding pregnancy and menstrual migraines. My doctor took me off them in January as she thought they were elevating blood pressure. I returned to the only other birth control method I have trusted and that's the Today's Sponge. It is easy to use, comfortable during use. I have never had children and do not want to start at age 54!

Spongeworthy

Not the intended use by makers, but this product works really well if you're having a light to medium cycle in loo of a tampon. It also keeps from making a big mess when having intercorce on your cycle.  I used one instead of a tampon, when I ran out, forgot I was even on my cycle, until later and noticed how great it works for both. That was about 6 years ago and have used them at the appropriate times for me, ever since.  This also works super well if your partner is wanting to conceive and you're not ready or if your husband is very religious and doesn't believe in you getting your tubes tied.  Oh and a helpful tip for removal in any situation or a complication.. use a douch filled with water while stratteling over the toilet backwards not to make a mess and not to have to root around and find it.

Use while on cycle or in loo of tampon!!

Excellent product

We have been using the today sponge for the last four months and love it. It was surprisingly easy to put in and has 24 hrs of protection. We don't like the pill , condoms don't feel good and used to use Conceptrol but didn't like having to reapply every time ...when we were doing it more than once in a day :) Can be difficult to remove but once you get the hang of it, it is easy.

Great product, no more pill side effects

I like the product, didn't have trouble to use it and it's been working so far.

So far so good

Using this product for the first time might be a bit of a struggle for some (it was for me), but once you get the hang of it you'll realize it's pretty straightforward. I can't/won't use oral contraceptives and my boyfriend can't/won't use condoms so I'm very happy we have found a functioning alternative. Even with the strap, neither of us can feel it when it's properly in place. In my personal experience, the discarded product tends to have a fairly malodorous presence. Other than this, the sponge is a godsend and I will be buying more in the near future.

I just  off the pill for a month, used today sponge for three times,so far so good, I give it four stars because it's little bit difficult to remove, other than that it's really good, very comfortable and either of us can't feel it
