This goes over the mattress very easily. There is ample siding that tucks under the mattress very well. This keeps the pad securely on the mattress while you sleep. It hasn't slid or moved since putting it on. That in itself makes it valuable, if you've ever had to make a bed. 

It's not super thick cushy, it's more like over the top of your mattress cushy. I did put my other topper under it after testing this cool mattress topper to add an extra layer, it fits with out an issue, the sides of this wonderful topper are that big! I did remove the other cover, after I tried to 
see if that would work.

If you're looking to add a topper to your bed, this is a great one to use. If you're looking to double the "cushy" this has enough side material to do that too.
I can't say that I felt cooler sleeping on this, but I'm thinking that it's cooler than the mattress itself, because of design. I do want to point out that we have had cooler evenings this summer, & I'm a fan of cotton sheets for the bed; which helps keep the bed cool as well.

I didn't feel awkward sleeping on this, nor any lumps or weird fabric smells. I do want to point out that it didn't come from the bag, with an odd or production smell to it. I didn't feel that I needed to wash it first or even air it out as I have wish a few other mattress toppers & covers. Out 
of the box, & on the bed. I did give it about half an hour to "air out & conform" as I got some sheets for the bed.

The package says that it can go directly into the washer, & being a Sealy product tend to believe that it can be washed many times in home. It didn't bunch up or shrink that (much) I can tell. Oh, also, it doesn't distort your sheets or change the pattern the design of this topper is just 
like a mattress itself, & aside from the sides (skirt) you don't notice there is anything underneath.

Cool & Zzzz

This cool touch mattress pad works just
as it says its very soft and is perfect for 
those people that run hot at night. I'm very 
excited about this product it's been on my 
bed for about a week or so and I can 
really tell the difference. It also adds a 
fantastic cooling sensation, but it adds a 
little extra padding comfort to the bed 
itself. It fits my queen bed perfectly!

Very Nice Cooling Mattress Pad

Packaging was very nice & secure. Very cooling to the touch right out of package, texture is very soft & silky feeling. Skirt is extremely roomy & was very easy to install on my 14 inch thick mattress. I would say it would easily fit up to 18”-20” mattress. The skirt goes well under my mattress so the pad is secure & doesn't slide all over. Fitted sheet went over pad easy, not altering the fit at all. The cooling is very nice & lasted until I fell asleep. Never woke up hot as I usually do. If it does absorb body heat it doesn't spread to the whole pad. When I rolled over I could immediately feel the cooling from where I had been laying. This is a great pad to have if you suffer from excessive body heat &/or night sweats. I LOVED it! I won't be sleeping without it from here on!
I machine washed & machine dried according to the care tag. Care directions were simple & clearly written. No visible changes out of the dryer, none while re-installing on my mattress. Felt the same cooling comfort while sleeping on it after washing/drying as it did strait out of package. 
I would recommend this mattress pad a million times over, and will be getting one for every mattress in my house!

Nicely Cooling

I am more than impressed with the Sealy Cooling mattress pad! I get very hot at night while I'm sleeping and it's so uncomfortable. I've tried fans and cooling sheets with no success, until I slept on this mattress pad. The first night I noticed a huge difference. My bed no longer gets overly hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. This pad stays cool and if it does ever get a little warm, I can get up and get some water and when I come back, it's cool again. This pad is made of really soft material and is so, so comfortable. It was easy to put on and stays put, no shifting or slipping off the corners of my mattress. This mattress pad is all around a great product with no faults. It does what it was made to do! I highly recommend!

Cool, Restful Night's Sleep

I would highly recommend the Sealy Cooling Mattress Pad. It is comfortable and cool to the touch for more relaxing sleep. It fits a Queen sized mattress properly and stays in place. The stretchy material that goes under the mattress is wide enough for a deep mattress and stretchy enough to put on easily but tight enough to stay firmly in place. It is actually easier to put on than a fitted sheet. The surface is waterproof, and I'm putting it on a brand new mattress that I hope it will help protect. My mattress is very soft so the extra padding isn't noticeable, but for a firmer mattress it might provide extra comfort. The attached photo shows how well it fits the mattress. I'm very satisfied with the cover and have found that it is cool and comfortable as advertised.

Cool and comfortable

I received this cooling pad last week and I instantly put it on the bed. It is incredibly soft. It helps me sleep better because I feel like it cradles my body. I'm not sweating at night b/c it has a cooling effect. It fits snuggly on the mattress. I love it.

Sweet dreams

This Sealy Cooling Mattress Pad is top quality as far as I'm concerned. I have hot flashes through the night and have to sleep under a fan or the air conditioner. We put this on our queen size bed and the first night, we had our fitted sheet over it. It did ok, but I couldn't tell a big difference in coolness. I decided on the second night to take the fitted sheet off and sleep directly on the mattress pad. Boy what a difference! I stayed so much cooler!!! It is washable so that's the way we've decided to use it. The pockets are very deep, so it does great over any thick mattress. The pockets grip very well too, so there's no slipping and sliding. Try this and you'll love it if you sleep hot at night. It is hypoallergenic also!

Cool!

The Sealy Cooling Mattress Pad arrived nicely packaged by an outer cardboard case and an inner durable, clear plastic zippered/formed inner pouch, measuring approximately 16x19x14H inches. I had to order the queen size for our full bed because that was the only size when I made my selection (the full size were probably taken at that point). The first thing I noticed was how cool to the touch it felt. The next thing I noticed was how thick and comfy the pad is stretched fully on the mattress. Even though it was a larger pad size, we tucked the excess underneath the mattress neatly and with the fitted sheet over it you wouldn't notice the disparity.

Its performance so far is quite nice—it is very comfortable to sleep on (assuming you already have a decent mattress underneath. Even if not, the pad's cushioning instantly improves the underlying surface (even if it were a smooth wooden board underneath). Maybe that might be taking it too far but I feel this pad is very comfortable. As for its cooling qualities, it does feel cool when you first lie on it and at no point while asleep did I feel overheated and sweaty. If you're wearing flannels to bed, you might not feel the coolness of it as much; thinner pajamas are ideal for experiencing that benefit.

The price range for this product is between $45 and $55 and it seems well worth it for a pleasant night's rest during the hot and muggy nights of summer.

Sealy Cooling Mattress Pad Works As Marketed

The cooling feature of this product does work fairly well. I have it under my fitted sheet and on top of a mattress cover. I frequently wake up with night sweats, to the point of slightly damp pajamas. This cover decreased that feeling by 80%; rather than being sweaty 5 nights, I woke up 1 night slightly sweaty. I was surprised the cooling actually had an impact. As a side note, the fit of the product is fantastic! I have a very thick mattress, and the mattress pad fits like a glove. The pad also has a slightly puffy feel that is very comfortable.

Helped with night sweats.

This Sealy cooling mattress cover is very soft and padded more than I expected. When you touch it the material is very cool and laying on it directly you can feel the cooling effect. It did not seem to hold heat. However, once I put a sheet on over the top it was not as effective. Even with the sheet it was somewhat cool, but the heat was more trapped and did not dissipate as it did with just the cooling mattress cover itself. The material is soft and as I said before quite padded. I found that it made the mattress a bit too soft for us as we are used to a firmer mattress and it made us sleep more poorly. I would not go so far as to say I wouldn't recommend the product, but it just wasn't for us. Our sheets are not overly thick so I didn't expect them to prevent the cooling effect so much.
